Little River Botanicals has developed a Skin Creme, which utilises a very effective epidermal anti-fungal agent called Falcarindiol from the Schefflera Digitata (Pate,Patete) tree, we named this compound Plant Extract42.
Maori historically used the compound in its raw form. Application was simple as leaves were rubbed against the area of interest until the infection was healed. An investigations of the native flora found the use of this tree was consistent across all of the tribes. The tree was used as an epidermal anti-fungal agent.
Later a friend who had a fungal infection of her hands (which had not been responding to the treatments prescribed) approached us to see if there was anything we could recommend. I suggested the application of the Plant Extract42 in its raw form, which she tried with great success. A draw back to this suggestion was the excessive use of compound. This problem was resolved by putting the Plant Extract42 into a creme and our product has developed from there.
Clinical trials were carried out in the small village of Little River. Villagers who showed signs of fungal infection were provided with our Plant Extract42. The trial began with swabs for fungal identification and later post treatment to gauge effectiveness. A mycologist carried out fungal identification
Laboratory trials were also carried out and various epidermal fungi were tested using the extract containing various concentrations of the Plant Extract42 (0.5%, 1%, 1.5% and Control). All concentrations were 100% effective. The trial was repeated, as we did not believe the result, but again all concentrations were 100% effective.
